Civworld, or Civilization World is a Facebook online multiplayer game (MMOG) developed by acclaimed game developer Sid Meier and Firaxis. It was launched on July 6, 2011 on Facebook. According to Sid Meier, Civilization World will offer "everything you enjoy in Civ in a fully persistent environment — you can play as much as you like, whenever you like, and it'll be free to play."
"Each game represents a journey through the course of human history, from the Stone Age to the Space Age and beyond. Games are played by players representing individual Nations that band together to form great Civilizations. These Civilizations compete with each other in four categories: Technology, Culture, Economics, and Domination.
